He appeared at the conference with six other defendants, charged with conspiracy to incite mob action at the Democratic Convention, who are standing behind him. They are (from left) John Froines, Abbie Hoffman, Lee Weiner, David Dellinger, Thomas Hayden and Rennard Davis. The eighth defendant, Bobby Seale, is in jail. The girl seated with Rubin was introduced as Nancy Kurshan, Rubin's wife.
